n Wednesday 10th May the Barbara Cartland Room was the glamorous setting for a photo shoot by British faux vintage lingerie brand What Katie Did. Brooklands had been on their wish list as a location for a while and the shoot was to promote the launch of a new line. On Wednesday 24th May UMTV spent most of the day here filming a piece to be shown on the coverage of the Red Bull Soapbox Race for the Dave Channel, which aired on 9th July. The programme went out live from 5.00pm to 8.00pm with an estimated audience of 1.2 million. The footage shot here was a background piece on one of the teams


Young Photographer Competition Our Young Photographer Competition theme this year is ‘Built at Brooklands’ and the winners in the different age categories will be announced on 18th September, with an exhibition displaying our talented young photographers’ pictures during October half-term. Into July and on the 3rd, underneath Concorde was the choice for a shoot by Classic Cars magazine featuring Mercedes-Benz cars previously owned by Nigel Mansell, Ayrton Senna and Keke Rosberg. Finally, on Tuesday 18th July some 15 or so actors in a variety of costumes made use of the Stratosphere Chamber, Clubhouse and some of the aircraft to stage shots for a spoof film-noir.

Saturday Science: Cars and Robots V2 Cars and Robots is back! We will be running a new set of Saturday Science workshops on robotics for 10 to 14-year-olds in November.
