tion (RHF) announces the recipi- ents of $10,500 in academic and need-based scholarships for seven youth members: Terri-June Granger of Dothan, AL; David Gringeri of West Haven, VT; Nicholas Muir of Lynnwood, WA; Quinn Sutherland of Eu- reka, MT; Megan D’Andrea f Fowler, OH; Jarid Walton of Riverdale, MI; and Morgan Knerr of Plain City, OH. Youth Association (NRHyA) submitted applica- tions for the RHF scholarships. The recipients were chosen by an independent committee based upon their academic achievement, financial need, future goals and involvement in the NRHyA and reining horse industry. “The scholarship program is a super example
of how the Reining Horse Foundation is making a positive impact on the reining community,” said Mark A. Blake, president. “Through the generosity of donors, it is a pleasure to provide these scholarships and impact the lives of young people furthering their education.” Granger, Gringeri

awarded $2,000 in RHF scholar- ship monies. Granger will be a member of the equestrian team at Auburn University, pursuing a de- gree in exercise science with the
goal of becoming an equine chiropractor. While completing high school, Gringeri has been taking dual enrollment courses at the University of Ver- mont and also the Community College of Ver- mont. He plans to major in business/finance and work toward a career in agribusiness. Muir attends Washington State University, majoring in animal science with plans to apply for veterinary school. He received a RHF scholarship in 2016 as a high school senior, making him eligible to reapply. Sutherland

intends to major in biol- ogy and become a reg- istered nurse. She is enrolled at Montana State University. D’An- drea is enrolled at
Youngstown State Univer- sity with plans to be- come a nurse anesthetist. She also re- ceived
an
RHF scholar- ship in 2016. Earning
$750 scholar- ships each are Walton and Knerr. A student at Mid Michigan Community College, Walton is trans- ferring to the University of Maine at Fort Kent, where he will participate on the men’s basketball team. He received RHF scholarships in 2015 and 2016. Knerr will attend the University of Findlay with plans to become a pharma- cist. She held multiple positions as a NRHyA officer, including president in 2017, vice president in 2016 and secretary in 2015. For more information about
