won the Non Pro at Lufkin CHA’s August 6 show in Lufkin, a 74 on Chet Smooth. He also won the $20,000 Non Pro, with a 72 on Smooth Ole- nas Dually.


Lee Paul Shinn has lived


in Florida 10 years now, but prior to that lived here and has many friends. On August 12, he rode Chester and Ann Prince’s Metallic Iron aka “Randy” to win the jr hunter hack at the NSBA World Show in Tulsa. Shinn was emotional while leaving the arena with an arm- load of prizes, because he traveled a rough road to get to this point in his life. He makes no secret of the fact that he is a recovering drug addict, 13 years sober now. Watch for him and Randy in sev- eral events at the AQHA World Show in No- vember, and please let him know lots of us Texans are proud for him!
