Bigger and better than ever, Kent’s international family festival returns to Canterbury over the weekend of 26th & 27th August

ou’d expect a festival called bOing! to offer a whole heap of fun, and you won’t be disappointed! Entertaining, laidback, inspiring and mesmerising,
bOing! is for babies, grandparents and everyone in between. Word is spreading, too – this vibrant young festival (this is the fourth) has grown in reputation and ambition. Audiences have increased from 2,500 to more than 11,000 and this year bOing! will be even bigger.

Some events are ticketed, but many are free. “A fantastic event and the children loved it!” enthuses mum Kris Pole. “We spent all day there and still didn’t see it all. You need two days to really take it all in.” But the great thing about bOing! is that it is so family friendly. You can dip in and out – spend the weekend or just a few hours. It’s free to enter and park, and many events are free, too. Choose to buy food from the cafe or Street Kitchen, or bring blankets and have a picnic. not be more passionate: “bOing! is about different generations coming together and sharing an experience,” she says. “You can see things at bOing! that are totally new and challenge you a bit, but it’s also about having fun and being entertained together.”
Kent University campus, but some of the brilliant bOing! atmosphere will bounce down the hill to the city centre. Watch out for Beastie at the Sidney Cooper Gallery and sniff out the secret locations to see C-12 Theatre performing dance pieces by award-winning choreographers. • Visit

Performers include the UK’s very best and incredible acts from Europe – all resulting in a very tasty festival indeed. Events (so many!) will include: • An internationally famous breakdance crew from The Netherlands (The Ruggeds) • Daredevil acrobats from Finland (Motosikai)
• A baby-enchanting classical concert from Portugal (Concerto Para Bebes)
• A dazzling light maze to explore (Pentalum Luminarium) Also look out for the smallest
