Regular excursions include a week spent sailing on the Norfolk Broads for Year 8, visiting the WW1 graves at the Somme for Year 9, a two day visit in London for Year 12 and a watersports adventure for Year 10, which this year took place at Hengistbury Head Outdoor Education Centre in Dorset. For the first time Year 7 were able to enjoy a residential visit when they spent three-night’s at Manor House & Ashbury Sport and Craft Hotel Complex in the foothills of Dartmoor National Park.

CEW Year 10

Also new on the agenda this year was a day visit to Amazing Animals, where Year 9 were able to meet a wide range of animals and birds that are trained to work in the media industry.

Year 10 spent enrichment week enjoying water sports in Dorset, writes Jess.

Over four days we undertook six water based activities- including raft building, kayaking, sailing and SUPing. We also tried our hands at different land based activities including high ropes, archery and rock climbing.

CEW Year 7

Everybody enjoyed different things, however my favourite was SUPing as it was fairly easy to get the hang of. We were taken across the lake and down the waterway into Christchurch where we stopped for a while. The water there was incredibly clear and we had great fun swimming and splashing around ... and watching Head of Maths, Derek Bottomly, show us his headstand on a paddle board!
