ports Super 6 success
Sibford pupils are County swimming champions
Congratulations to Sibford students who competed in the NOSSP Super 6 athletics competition in May against five other schools.
With only two ‘natural’ Year
11s competing, it was the opportunity for some Year 10 students to step into the breach. The challenge was for each athlete to compete in a track event (100, 300 or 1500m), a field event (long jump, shot put or javelin) and then contribute to a 4x100m relay or 8-person medley relay.
The team finished third overall with Seb winning his shot put and Phoebe being beaten with the last throw of the final round. Well done to all involved.
On the penultimate day of term, Sibford Under 11 and Under 12 Boys swim teams travelled to Radley College Sports Centre, Abingdon to compete in the Oxfordshire School Games, Swimming County Finals. Both teams
demonstrated some excellent swimming with the Under 11 Boys being crowned School Games County Champions and the Under 12 Boys coming home as Silver medallists. Sibford Head Toby Spence said: “This was an absolutely fabulous result. A huge ‘well done’ to all competitors, supporters and staff who devote so much time and care to making these things happen.”

Sailing skills
During the second half of the Summer term Year 6 pupils completed the sailing programme they began last Autumn. Sailing takes place at Farmoor Reservoir near Oxford where the pupils are taught by a resident sailing warden/instructor.
