Saints surprise

Some 33 pupils, parents and staff had the chance to visit Franklin Gardens in Northampton to watch Saints vs Harlequins in the final game of the season. A special surprise was

organised for some of the group to hold the oversized Saints shirt on the pitch as the players ran out. It was a great game of rugby and the final result saw Saints win by 22-20.

Inter-house sports days

Cross country Two Sibford pupils showed some outstanding performance when they competed in the Cross Country School Games Finals held in Abingdon on 31 March. Tom (Year 3) finished 3rd in the County and Louis (Year 7) finished 7th in his race. A fantastic achievement for both runners.

A sporting highlight of the summer term is always the interhouse sports days ... and this year was no exception. The Senior School event was won by Gillett House and the Junior event by Clark. Tutor group 7DS took the opportunity to make and sell cakes at the Senior School event raising £84.78 for the charity Warchild which empowers children and young people in conflict areas.

The following month Sibford hosted a Junior Cross Country event against visiting schools. Most of our children in Years 1 to 6 took part with special mention going to Olivia who finished 3rd in the U9 girls’ race; Arthur who finished 2nd in the U9 boys’ race; Amelie who finished 2nd in the U11 girls’ race and the U11 girls’ team of Georgie, Amelie, Isobel and Hannah who finished 2nd overall.
