THE SOLUTION TO POSITIVE CHANGE
“JAAN means ‘life’ in the Hindi language and we believe life is about living and learning,” states Mita Unalkat, business development director of JAAN Learning and Development. Celebrating their fifth year in
business recently, JAAN Learning and Development was set up by Mita’s husband Punit Jansari. “Punit wanted a working
environment where there were no boundaries. From performance coaching for individuals, to personal development and team effectiveness training, and learning and development consultancy.” Both Punit and Mita come
from a background where their previous companies invested in training and development so they experienced first-hand the positive benefits of training. Mita said: “JAAN Learning and

CML’S CHARITY SHIPMENT
Development was set up because we have a burning desire and passion to support and help people to improve themselves, do better and reach their potential.” Five years on, JAAN Learning
and Development’s clients come from the private and public sectors and range from pharmaceutical companies to the retail industry. Mita said: “What makes JAAN
CML has recently supported the parents of its global logistics manager, Paul Bambrough-Smith, with the shipment of charity goods to a school in Senegal. John and Rosie Smith holidayed in West Africa in
January and, during the trip, they visited a village on a remote island in Senegal, which is home to around 600 people, including around 160 primary school children. The couple noticed that even though the villagers were welcoming, happy and healthy, they were poor and many of the children’s clothes didn’t fit them properly. Rosie said: “During our trip we met some of the
most amazing people, including Ben, the primary school’s head teacher. It was clear he was struggling to buy the resources he needed.
“When we returned to the UK we put together a box
of French textbooks, pens and pencils and sent them to the school. The response was incredible and we then put together three boxes, including 180 articles of clothing, a world wall map and more pens and pencils. “When it came to arranging the shipment for these
boxes, we spoke to our son Paul for his advice. CML offered to cover the freight charges and we can’t thank Paul and everyone at CML enough for all their help.” CML’s managing director, Mark Webb, said: “Being
able to use our own freight team to help support a charitable cause was highly rewarding for us. It was wonderful to be able to see the direct results of our efforts.”
different is that we have very few off-the-shelf solutions and we pride ourselves on understanding a client’s needs and then tailor a solution that results in positive behaviour change.” Regarding the future, Mita
added: “We’d like to support people who cannot access our services through work, and therefore we are in the process of setting up a social enterprise where we can offer our services without expecting any financial return, just a positive change in behaviour.”
