VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AT CHARITY HOSPICE
A hospice charity which provides specialist palliative care services has issued a call to action to the business community. Cynthia Spencer Hospice offers inpatient care, outpatient services,
Hospice@Home, a lymphoedema service and day hospice service in South Northamptonshire. The charity needs to raise £1.9m this year to help fund the hospice’s
annual running costs. To help generate these funds it has opened a retail distribution unit to process donations for its charity shops and it needs your help to run and stock it. Retail manager Charlotte Jones said: “It’s important we get quality
donations into our charity shops quickly because this is where our income comes from. Our new retail distribution unit has a Donation Station to make it easy for the public to donate goods, including furniture and electrical goods. Having the unit will also allow us to start opening new shops within the South Northamptonshire area. “Now we urgently need volunteers to help us make the unit successful.
We’ve been thrilled to have employees from various companies coming to spend a day with us at the unit and would urge other businesses to have a charity day where their colleagues could come along to support us. “Anyone in South Northamptonshire could need our services for themselves or their families.” Volunteers will help sort donations and identify items which could attract
higher prices and allocate them for sale on the charity’s eBay page via

based at Pondwood House, Pondwood Close, Moulton Park, Northampton, NN3 6RT. The hospice would like to hear from businesses undergoing refurbishments
or office moves that may have furniture or office equipment they could donate. They should call 01604 973349 or email
