Things got a little wild,
western and wet at the Or- angeville RAM Rodeo. Our cowboys and cowgirls did a great job at riding and compet- ing to the conditions of the weather in the arena.

angeville RAM Rodeo kick off for the 20th season was amaz- ing! Even considering that we had the worst weather we can remember in our 20-year his- tory-the rodeo was still a suc- cess. Fans that attended the
weekend long event were incredible, sitting through torrential rain and wind to cheer on the cowboys and cowgirls that put on a great performance! We don’t know any other horse sport where the
competitors would compete in heavy rains that we ex- perienced. The effects of the weather really showed the horsemanship skills of the cowboys and cowgirls, as they rode and competed to the conditions of the ground. The riding arena was surprisingly good despite the inches of water that covered the arena. A big thank you to Case IH Tractors and the System Fencing groomer for the arena as it kept the conditions safe for our animals. The competition was great with record times
being recorded. Barrel Racing sponsored by Purina Canada had 5 top girls all within 100’s of a second, with Lexi Pendry winning the weekend with a time of 15.68. Cowgirl, Stephanie Williams came back to compete after a 2-year break to start a family, and caught her calf in Breakaway Roping with a 2.3 sec. run. Congrats to Scott McMahon who caught his calf in Tie Down Roping in 12.7 sec., winning the event for the weekend. This was the first rodeo for our NEW Dickies Workwear Novice Bucking Horse program, with a special mention to Jack Miller who scored on both of his horses Saturday and Sunday and Brendan Bowie who covered his first 8 second ride. The tour moves on to Minden RAM Rodeo next
weekend into Ontario’s cottage country, fingers crossed in hopes of drier weather!
