Coming fresh from a successful Maidstone Food Festival in Mote Park during the bank holiday weekend, Andrew said: “It’s really encouraging to talk to so many people who are wanting a better alternative to the supermarket.
“They want food that’s fresher, tastes better, and that they know where it’s come from. Our customers love hearing stories from the farm; it gives them a real connection with the food on their plate.”

beautiful Aylesford village. The Grade II listed building was originally two houses, and was converted into a restaurant in 1980.
Downstairs is an informal brasserie-style dining room with bar which offers casual all-day dining, serving lunch at midday right through until closing time. Decorated in a traditional style but with a quirky twist, downstairs is the place to go for a coffee or a relaxed lunch.
Upstairs are two formal dining rooms - the Conservatory and the Crystal Room. These rooms offer a more formal, intimate dining option and either room can be hired out individually.

The Hengist reopened in April 2014 following an extensive renovation. The 16th Century building still stands with orginal features and timber beams yet houses an elegant, modern restaurant and bar.
As a village bar and dining rooms the Hengist offers a range of dining options including a casual dining option on the ground floor and two more formal dining rooms upstairs. We offer seasonal ‘a la carte’ and ‘set’ menus along with a ‘Sunday lunch’ menu. All of our dishes are freshly made to order with locally sourced ingredients.
Monday - Thursday Lunch times, Set Menu 12-3pm. Evening food served from 6pm. Food Served all day Friday and Saturday. Sunday Lunch menu available 12-5pm.
