Fears over fires started in wood
ASNODLANDwoman has raised concerns about the hazards caused by youngsters lighting fires in woodland near her home. Jacqui Walker says the fires be-
tween the green play area at Wil- lowside and the A228 Snodland by-pass could be dangerous, and has contacted Kent County Council and the town council. Jacqui Walker, who lives at Wil- lowside, walks her dog every day in the woodland. She said it is the same group of youngsters, six or seven boys and girls, who cause the damage, which has been going on since last year. They have ripped panels out of fencing and ripped down tree branches to light fires. She said: “There is going to be a
big fire and it could be dangerous. Whenever I talk to them they are mouthy to me." Jacqui is pictured at the site of a

News June turns 70 with sky dive
A SNODLAND woman is to celebrate her 70th birthday by joining her daughter in leaping out of an aeroplane in a parachute jump at Headcorn on June 27. They are raising money for a charity called "Education for Life" to give
food to children in Kenya. June McDonald, of Queens Avenue, Snodland, was born inWest Malling. and has been on mission trips to Mexico, Cambodia, India and Kenya.
