Welcome to the June issue
It’s the final build-up to the Upton Carnival next month on Saturday 15th July. The Fun Run fundraising event for the Carnival was well attended and looked great fun (pg6). Also raising Carnival funds this month is the James Bond themed night on 17th June, see page 29 for details.
If you have some time to spare, the Dorset Partnership for Older People Programme is looking for volunteers to set up a car service for those who have difficulty accessing public transport (pg16). And on page 10, local resident Paul Johns is looking for help to provide better youth facilities in Lytchett Minster and Upton.
Has anyone ever suggested that you might make a good town councillor? Lytchett Minster and Upton Town Council currently has three vacancies. Training is provided and travel expenses are paid – find more information on page 10.
Waypoints Care Home invites you to visit their home and join them at their Dementia Information Morning on National Care Home Open Day on Friday 16th June (pg34). See pages 28-29 for details of many more of the local events that are on this month, including the Corfe Mullen Carnival (pg23) on Saturday 10th June.
Welcome to new advertisers Eager Paws (pg17) Jazzercise (pg27), Elite Financial (pg25) and the Pilford Heath Transport & Heritage Show (pg28). If you’d like to advertise your business, organisation or event in our magazines, we would be delighted to speak to you.
