At a time when many schools are seeing depletion of the Arts subjects, Lytchett Minster School’s Performing and Creative Arts department continues to thrive.
We have an excellent, strong and dedicated team of staff who do all they can to nurture our students’ emerging talents and we are very proud of what our students go on to achieve.
Our Music Department was recently awarded an ISM Trust Bronze Certifi cate. The certifi cate was awarded by the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM) and the ISM Trust to recognise entries and attainment in GCSE music across Key Stage 4. Our students showcased their high standards of musicianship at the recent Summer Concert, when the audience was treated to a range of musical styles and ensembles.
We also recently became one of eight local schools to forge partnerships in a new Poole Lighthouse initiative. The Schools Partnership programme will see our school becoming a champion for the arts within our local community. Our students will attend live performances, and as the programme develops further, have the opportunity to see behind the scenes, attend workshops and receive careers talks.

There have been various studies that claim that teaching the arts has a signifi cant effect on overall success in school. Here at Lytchett we believe it is important to provide students with access to a wide and rich range of subjects and the Performing and Creative Arts lie very much at the heart of our school.
