The Town Council now has three vacancies for town Councillors, who must be over 18; an elector; a Commonwealth, British or EU citizen; and have resided in the locality or within three miles of it during the previous 12 months, or have a place of business in the locality.


The current vacancies are to be fi lled by co-option to a casual vacancy, given that town council elections are not scheduled.


This voluntary role can be both interesting, engaging and at times challenging – the time commitment is three out of four Tuesday evenings for meetings, plus other meetings, site visits and events. Training is provided by Dorset Association of Parish and Town Councils. Travel expenses are paid.

Do our young people need more facilities in Lytchett Minster & Upton?


We have around 400 young people in Lytchett Minster & Upton with very few facilities for them to enjoy and to help them to grow up to be capable and responsible adults. Just having a place to meet their friends, possibly in the ‘Grove’ on the Upton Rec. would be a good start and there are loads of people who can provide a variety of great activities. We have adequate funding for a good start, so if you would like to help provide better facilities for our youngsters, please give me call.
