CHAMBER NEWS Business Awards set to return
The Chamber’s annual Business Awards, headline-sponsored by Mazars, remain open for applications, however the closing date of Friday 19 May is fast approaching. The Business Awards are a
chance to come together and celebrate the best of business in the East Midlands. There are 12 categories to choose
from - including a new Marketing Campaign of the Year award - and one business in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire will be selected as a coveted Business of the Year winner. Members of all sizes and from all
sectors are welcome to enter as many of the 12 categories as they wish. The categories fall under three main themes: Development and Growth; Celebrating People and Excellence in Performance. Selected award category winners
will be put forward for inclusion in the national British Chambers of Commerce Awards. Last year, six Chamber members
- Cathelco, Hayles Leicester, Penny Hydraulics, Purpose Media, Shakespeare Martineau and Trent
Academies Group - went on to win regional awards from the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) on the back of success at the Chamber’s Business Awards. Finalists for the 2017 Chamber
Business Awards will be announced at the President's Summer Reception in June. During September, Gala Dinners will take place in each county to
announce the winners. Chief Executive Scott Knowles
said: “The Chamber Business Awards are the only ones in the region delivered purely by business, for business and are also the only awards which enable the winners to go on to compete in the British Chambers of Commerce’s regional and national awards. “You can’t overestimate the
kudos and potential for growth that comes from taking part in the region’s biggest business awards programme.”
