Kevin’s promotion heralds growth
Fishers Dewes Solicitors has appointed Kevin Lynch as a director as part of its continued growth. Kevin, a commercial litigation
lawyer, has been with the midlands-based firm since 2014. He advises on a range of disputes and contentious matters for both businesses and individuals. Kevin has particular experience
in acting on disputes regarding real estate, including landlord and tenant issues. He also regularly provides clients with advice concerning potential will disputes and contentious probate matters. He qualified as a Solicitor and
Higher Courts Advocate in 2011, having first qualified as a Barrister in 2009 from Gray’s Inn in London. Managing Director Charles Killin
said: “Kevin has been a huge asset since he has been with the firm. He is an accomplished litigator and many of our clients have found Kevin’s knowledge and advice invaluable in resolving their concerns.”
Ian Morgan appointed Chairman at Derbyshire
Ian Morgan OBE has been appointed Chairman of Derbyshire County Cricket Club following its Annual General Meeting. Morgan, who was awarded an
OBE in 2015 for services to business in the East Midlands, was confirmed as Chairman after the six members of the Club’s Supervisory Board were formally elected at the AGM, all standing unopposed. Morgan, who was elected to the Supervisory Board as Commercial Director, is Deputy Chairman of the
Penny joins S4RB
Nottingham-based Solutions for Retail Brands (S4RB) has announced the appointment of its new Non-Executive Retail Director. Penny Coates joins the private
brand grocery retail specialist having previously worked as Private Label Director at Asda. She also held leading positions at other companies including Mars, PepsiCo and Boots and has
worked in various non-executive director and advisory roles. Penny said: “S4RB has created
an impressive name for itself in the retail industry and it’s an exciting prospect for me to be joining at such a strong period of investment for the company, particularly in growing its US presence and the development of its innovative UBX Cloud Services. “The UK is considered to be
leading the way in the private brand retail industry and S4RB is right at the front of this progressive movement.”

and board member of the Chamber, where he continues to play an active role, and is a member of the University of Derby Invest to Grow panel. Hari Punchihewa, a current Chamber board member and a member of the University of Derby
Executive Team, has been elected as Finance Director, Ian McFarlane, a retired board member at Briggs of Burton, has been confirmed as Facilities Director and former Derbyshire and England fast bowler Mike Hendrick is the Club’s new Cricket Advisory Director. Kirpal Bidmead, who is Head of
the Family Law Team at Flint Bishop LLP, has been elected as Legal Services Director, while Jason Fage was re-elected as Administration Director.
Key promotion at Haines Watts Leicester
Chartered accountants and business adviser Haines Watts Leicester has announced the promotion of Shazin Tayub from Tax Manager to Associate Partner. Shazin, who graduated from
Loughborough University with an honours degree in accounting and financial management, is a qualified tax technician and a chartered tax adviser by profession. Since he joined the Haines Watts team
in 2014, Shazin has been instrumental in developing the tax team, which offers all taxation planning and compliance matters for a diverse portfolio of clients in Leicester, Leicestershire and Corby. He will continue to work alongside Sanjay Khullar. Shazin said: “With my
experience, I am able to offer clients a range of tax planning opportunities and ensure that they receive the right proactive tax advice tailored to their needs.”
