Glasgow City Football Club picks up the Sports Award
Scotland’s largest construction companies, employing more than 2,200 staff. Te company has activities in all areas of construction, including repairs, maintenance and manufacturing. Tey launched their apprenticeship programme in 2006 and have helped more than 1,000 people into sustainable employment. Also, they offer initiatives to ensure apprentices develop life skills and contribute to their local community.

Andrew Dobbie founded MadeBrave in 2012 two weeks aſter his son was born, and with just £1,000 to his name. MadeBrave now employs 16 people and their client list includes Te SSE Hydro, Arup and Aggreko. Not just content with building a company, Andrew has grown MadeBrave into a brand recognised as vibrant, creative, forward thinking and woven into the creative fabric of the city.
Glasgow 2014 Ltd was charged by the Commonwealth Games Organising Commitee to deliver the XX Commonwealth Games. In doing so they exceeded the city’s every expectation and succeeded at showcasing Glasgow on a global level as a city brimming with humour, warmth and welcome. Alongside lasting improvements to the city’s physical face, infrastructure and sporting provision, perceptions of our city have changed inwardly and globally.

Lord Robert Smith’s life has been one of dedication to the city and the country, a former Governor of the BBC, Chancellor of the University of Strathclyde, Chair of the Green Investment Bank and – most recently – Chair of the Glasgow 2014 XX Commonwealth Games Organising Commitee, responsible for the delivery of the best Commonwealth Games in history.
