Switzerland Important Holiday Information
Flying to Switzerland Flights from many UK airports Direct flights to Zürich and Geneva take just 90 minutes, depart at convenient times and are frequent and reliable throughout the winter. As well as services from London airports, Switzerland is well-served from regional UK airports. We offer scheduled services such as Swiss International Airlines and British Airways in addition to low cost carriers such as Easyjet and Flybe.
Transfers to your resort By Rail Swiss Railways provide an outstanding service with a reputation for reliability. The majority of resorts have a railway station while a few are linked directly into the rail network by bus connections (included with your train ticket). Zürich and Geneva airports feature railway stations within airport terminal building which makes a very convenient way to start your holiday. For many Swiss hotels we offer return transfers from the resort railway station. We offer 1st and 2nd class rail transfer options to all our resorts (excluding cities). You will receive a detailed itinerary with your travel documents showing information on your rail journey e.g. timings, platform numbers, changes etc. By Taxi You may prefer a return taxi transfer, especially if you’re travelling with ski equipment or in a group. We offer taxi transfers to all resorts.
Fly Rail Luggage For a small supplement, use our ‘Fly Rail Luggage’ service to transport your luggage from your UK airport to your chosen hotel. Simple and convenient, it’s a unique service that many of our customers choose to add to their booking. Outbound Fly Rail Luggage Check in your luggage at your UK airport and pick it up from your hotel reception either later that evening or the next morning, depending on your flight arrival time. This service is available on all airlines flying into Zürich or Geneva to most resorts. Inbound Fly Rail Luggage For your return journey, leave your luggage at your hotel reception ready for collection either the evening before your departure or early morning depending on your flight time. We will organise for your luggage to be transferred to your departure airport and to be checked in for your flight. The next time you see your luggage will be on the luggage carousel at your UK airport. This service is only available when flying back to the UK with Swiss International Airlines from Zürich or Geneva. Inbound Airport Baggage Where Inbound Fly Rail Luggage is not available, you may be able to opt for Inbound Airport Baggage. This is a similar service to Inbound Fly Rail Luggage except you will be responsible for collecting your luggage from the Swiss Railways counter at Zürich or Geneva airport and personally checking it in for your flights. Fast Baggage If you are travelling between resorts on a multi- centre holiday you can opt for the Fast Baggage service. Leave your luggage for collection at your hotel before 9am and we will organise for it to reach your next destination hotel sometime after 6pm that day.
Important Fly Rail Luggage Information: • Luggage often arrives the morning after your arrival which is why we do not recommend this service to keen skiers needing clothing early the next morning.
• Unfortunately we cannot offer Outbound Fly Rail Luggage, Inbound Fly Rail Luggage, Inbound Airport Baggage or Fast Baggage to Laax, Villars, Les Diablerets, Geneva or Zürich.
• Fly Rail Luggage services can only be booked in conjunction with a rail transfer.
• Luggage does not travel with passengers so we advise our customers to carry an overnight bag including any medication.
• Bulky items or sports equipment weighing over 32kg will not be accepted.
