Interlaken & Wilderswil Bernese Oberland City add-on

“The vibrant resort of Interlaken is situated between the two lakes of Thun and Brienz, while neighbouring Wilderswil is a quiet, picturesque Swiss village, just a few minutes away. Surrounded by the dramatic mountain scenery of the snow-clad Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks, it’s perfect for skiers looking to access the Jungfrau ski region by bus and train in under an hour.” Clare Warman - Product Manager

Interlaken and Wilderswil are great for those looking to enjoy the winter-wonderland of Switzerland, and perfectly placed for you to sample the slopes and even better if you choose not to ski every day. They also offer a less costly alternative for visitors wanting to join the carnival atmosphere in Wengen during the Lauberhorn race weekend and Inferno weekend in Mürren. They are a superb choice for non-skiers looking for great winter walking or exploring the region’s many attractions by rail or bus. Highlights include the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Jungfraujoch, the Piz Gloria revolving restaurant on the Schilthorn and the 15km toboggan run from Faulhorn to Grindelwald.

Gourmet weeks in Wilderswil

Adult Youth Child -

in partnership with

The Lauberhorn Race Weekend in Wengen (16- 18 January 2015) and the Inferno Race Weekend in Mürren (22-25 January 2015) are arguably the biggest events in the Swiss ski calendar. Due to the huge influx of athletes and spectators, Wengen and Mürren become extremely busy. We recommend Interlaken or Wilderswil as a convenient and less costly base to visit these remarkable events. Please note: these dates are to be confirmed.

If you’re a walker, sledger or non-skier looking to use the Jungfrau’s excellent network of railways, cable cars and post buses during your holiday, we recommend you pre-book the Hiking & Sledging Pass through us. Price per person: 2 days from £80 (£40 for children), 6 days from £180. Please note, Jungfraujoch and Schilthorn journeys are available to book at a 50% reduction locally.

Food lovers should take a closer look at the Hotel Alpenblick’s gourmet dining options. Guests staying at the hotel during certain weeks in January and February may sample some of the very best regional specialities, along with à la carte meals, a ‘Fleisch’ meat fondue and a traditional Swiss cookery lesson with the house chef. Please note: these dates are to be confirmed.
