MORGAN HILL

Lots of Fun Events at the Centers by Maureen Drewniany

T

he New Year has begun in Morgan Hill with many fresh and vibrant opportunities to support

recreation, leisure and health and well- ness for all ages! Brand new in 2012 is Tuesday

Night Bingo at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center (CCC). Beginning January 3, present- ed by the Friends of the Morgan Hill Senior Center, Bingo will be every Tuesday evening from 6:30pm – 9:30pm. The proceeds will benefit the Centennial Recreation Senior Center. This will be a great opportunity for weeknight fun and socializing while benefitting a great cause…and you might just walk away with some extra cash! For more information on the new Tuesday games go to www.fmhsc.org. Another fun weeknight entertain-

ment opportunity is Downtown Comedy Night at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse on the last Thursday night of each month. It has been said that laughter is the best med- icine and Comedy Night, featuring top

Bay Area comics, might be just what the doctor ordered for the New Year. Doors open at 6:30pm for Happy Hour and the show begins at 7:30pm. Enjoy dinner at one of downtown Morgan Hill’s fine restaurants and then head to the Community Playhouse for an evening of laughter and enjoyment. For a listing of who will be on the bill go to www.morganhillcomedy.com. The Morgan Hill Community

Playhouse is also home to South Valley Civic Theater (SVCT). SVCT will present “On the Town” beginning January 20. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sunday Matinees at 2:30pm. The show runs through February 11. Tickets can be purchased at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center, BookSmart and the Gilroy Welcome Center. Take the family or enjoy a date night with your favorite person…what could be better for a Saturday night than dinner and a play in Downtown Morgan Hill? SVCT lists their entire season on their website at
