Nights Festival, December 5 and 6, at Balboa Park, in San Diego. This popular annual festival is attended by more than 350,000 people and features a wide variety of food, entertainment and vendors. Based in San Diego, Patricia Kor Accessories de- signs and manufactures distinctive women’s handbags,
jewelry, accessories and shoes. Handcrafted winter jackets will also be available for purchase at the festival. Patricia Kor products are handcrafted in Southern California and Argentina and can be viewed at her newly launched, redesigned website.

Paul Ecke Jr. Poinsettia Ball

o celebrate 20 years of serving the Encinitas community and raise funds for the YMCA Financial Assis- tance programs, the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA will host the Paul Ecke, Jr. Poinsettia Ball, at 6 p.m., December 11. This year’s theme is Boots and Ball Gowns, to honor the first galas original- ly held in the Paul Ecke Ranch barn. More than 250 of North County’s prominent business leaders, philanthro- pists and community leaders are expect- ed to attend the ball. The event includes a silent auction during cocktail hour; displays of poinsettias from the Paul Ecke Ranch; dinner; dancing; music by San Diego’s own band, The Heroes; and a chance to support the YMCA’s Finan- cial Assistance Fund, which serves the community by helping residents partici- pate in the YMCA’s enriching programs, regardless of ability to pay.
