WS, one of Europe’s leading specialist contract electronics manufacturers, has announced that its website is now available to read in both German and Slovakian. The move supports the company’s growing activities in these countries. AWS CEO Paul Deehan comments: “Germany is a particularly strong market for us. A little under a year ago we realised that many German customers were looking to take advantage of the lower total manufacturing costs that are offered by Eastern European countries such as Slovakia where we have our second manufacturing facility. Our investment in the Namestovo facility and key staff has meant that we are winning a great deal of business from all sectors including strong German markets such as automotive, smart metering and medical. The translation of our web site into German and Slovakian will make it easier for people to do business with us there.”

ylec-APL, the specialist supplier of electrical and electronic components, enclosures and rack systems, is announcing RETO, the latest line in 19in data and server cabinets from Retex, which offers many advantages, including ease of installation, accessibility, strength and price. Retex, a Spanish enclosure manufacturer, is known for the design of its products, the majority of which are shipped flat- pack, for ease of transportation and installation, especially in difficult-to-access server rooms. The new RETO rack differs from previous generation products because it has no external structure. This maximizes internal space utilization, and also helps facilitate quick assembly. However load-carrying-capability has not been compromised; RETO racks can handle up to 1200kg – up to 50% more than some cheap flat pack models - and they are around 25% more cost-effective than Retex’s Logic2 rack, which handles up to 1500kg.

OMC offers to mount any fibre optic diode in any housing
MC, the pioneer in optoelectronics manufacturing, has announced a new service, enabling engineers to choose exactly the right fibre optic diode for their application and have it mounted in their preferred package. Although the company offers a wide standard range of packaged transmitters and receivers, OMC recognises that sometimes designers have specific requirements which demand a custom approach. Comments OMC’s Commercial Director, William Heath: “We regularly get approached by people who have identified a diode which is a perfect match for their needs, but find that it is not available in a housing, or in the specific housing that they need. As the housing itself - as well as the way the diode is mounted in the housing - can have serious implications for system performance, we decided to offer a ‘mix and match’ service – you specify housing and diode, we’ll look after the mounting process.”

New MEDI-FLEX standard medical connectors

The two-piece hood is non-
