HIGH PERFORMANCE V4A STAINLESS STEEL ENCLOSURES
T
he inoCASE and inoCASEmini electronic enclosures from Rolec are
now available in V4A stainless steel for added strength, resilience and corrosion resistance. Rated IP66 as standard for
challenging environments such as the marine, offshore and petrochemical industries, they are also perfect for sectors which demand the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene. These enclosures are high quality and extremely robust enclosures. Smart
design features common to both include separate channels for fixing the lid and mounting the enclosure. Four separately welded screw channels create an interference-
free installation space so the enclosures can be securely mounted to walls, bulkheads or machines without having to drill through the base – preserving the integrity of the electronics compartment. In the base of each enclosure are two welded fastening plates,
each with three threaded holes for the installation of PCBs, mounting plates and top hat rails. The lid is secured by four captive V4A stainless steel Allen screws. Customers can order inoCASE and inoCASEmini direct from
stock with no minimum order quantity. Electropolishing is also available to give a gleaming corrosion-resistant finish. ROLEC inoCASE and inoCASEmini are manufactured from 4404/V4A/AISI 316L stainless steel. The inoCASE V4A is available in 18 sizes (140 by 110 by 60mm to 430 by 300 by 120mm), each with a gasket compression ridge in the base, a continuous silicone gasket in the lid and M5 mounting and earthing points. There are six sizes (from 100 by 70 by 50mm to 200 by 90 by 60mm), each with a smooth base (no ridge), a continuous silicone lid gasket and M4 mounting and earthing points. Options for these enclosures include IP 67 protection, an
internal mounting plate and support rails. The company also offers in-house laser cutting of holes and cutouts for controls, switches, connectors and cable glands, plus laser engraving of legends and logos.

INTEGRATED VENTILATION SYSTEM
When an enclosure is exposed to regularly changing temperature, if it’s positioned outside for example, the air inside will expand and contract as it heats and cools. This will in turn create pressure differences to the air outside meaning that air will be drawn into the enclosure; this air contains moisture which will form condensation. To combat the formation of condensation, ventilation components are already available on the market. However, these need to be specified separately and fitted to standard enclosures. This increases cost and installation time and can harm the enclosure’s IP rating if not installed correctly. To help its customers reduce costs and guarantee reliability, Spelsberg has launched one of the first distribution box’s on the market featuring an integrated ventilation system as standard. The AK Air offers end-users IP65
protection, making it suitable for most outdoor and industrial applications. There are two ventilation elements integrated into the back of the enclosure which protect against the ingress of foreign particles yet allow air transfer into the box to regulate temperature and pressure. Because the elements are integrated as standard, end-users can be confident that the IP rating has not been compromised and delivery deadlines won’t be missed. Spelsberg

GLASS PANELS FOR TOUCHSCREENS
Multifunction Interface-Terminal enclosures from OKW are now suitable for touchscreen applications. The cases can be ordered with a high quality glass panel fitted in the top to protect the touchscreen underneath. These enclosures are an extremely
versatile range of configurable enclosures which can be used for handheld, desktop, wall or flush mounted applications by specifying different combinations of case components. Applications include office electronics, controllers, communications, safety engineering, medical and laboratory technology, education, museums, healthcare, automation and measurement. The new touchscreen glass panels have been designed for use with the Version II base sections – either flat or high, to give designers a wider choice of internal space options.
