ePower connector series, rated at 800 VDC to 1,000 VDC, to include right angle over molded connectors for 200 A and 400 A connection systems. New designs for higher current ratings of 500 A and 700 A continuous are also available. Amphenol e-power connectors are deal for use in power converters, hybrid electric vehicles,

electrification, two- and three-phase motors and starter generators in the construction, agricultural, military, bus, truck, motor bike and mining markets. In the energy storage market, where space is at an ever-increasing premium, Amphenol’s cost-effective ePower connectors can replace up to three conventional ones, giving labour saving as well as a 40% smaller footprint than using three EMI shielding glands. Designed to meet the demanding needs of modern electrification programs in high voltage and high amperage applications, these rugged connectors incorporate the company’s patented RADSOK technology to achieve higher current ratings, lower insertion forces, lower temperature rise and contact resistance.

electromagnetic protection for the transmission of sensitive data and signals, CONEC has expanded its M8x1 Field Attachable connector series by adding variants with 360° shielding. These connectors are ideal for use in automation engineering applications e.g. in robot controls or in the packaging and printing industries. With the new variants of the M8x1 connector, cables with a conductor cross section between 0.14 and 0.5 mm² (AWG 26 to 20) can be connected by means of screw terminals. The connection technology accepts both solid or stranded cables, which can be inserted with or without wire-end ferrules. The field attachable connectors are available as female or male connector with 3 or 4 poles. The housings are designed for cables with overall diameters between 5 and 6.5 mm. The completely mated condition meets the requirements of protection class IP67.

Customisable LED Illuminated Touch and Press to Exit Switches

tadium IGT have partnered with Acal BFi to create a range of break-through panel mounted illuminated exit switches offering the end user a choice of capacitive touch switch or electromechanical push button for actuation. This innovative HMI solution features Stadium IGT’s patented thin film backlighting embedded into the back-plate, offering optional colour-ways and customisable legend, providing a modern and sleek alternative to conventional switch plates. This advanced HMI solution enables illuminated user instructions to be incorporated into the unit design, removing the need for additional displays or signage. The electromechanical push button version is well suited to building, industrial and safety applications where a conventional switch with a positive tactile response is required.
For offices, hospitals and public buildings where a high-end finish is
desired, the capacitive touch switch version will be a welcome alternative for architects and designers. The new exit switches use either a rugged and reliable industry standard dome actuated push-button or a high reliability backlit capacitive touch switch mounted on an acrylic material incorporating the patented thin-film LED illumination technology from Stadium IGT. The material can be screen printed with different colours of text, making a low profile, low power consumption 12VDC powered unit that can be retrofitted to existing back boxes or supplied with a back box for new installations. The standard text is ‘Press to Exit’ for the mechanical version and ‘Touch to Exit’ for the capacitive version, however, customers can personalise the switches based on text, illumination colour, switch style and operating voltage. mbedded Office, a specialist company that specialises in safety-critical applications,
is
taking part along with other partners from industry and science in the fourth civil aviation research programme (LUFO IV.4) funded by the German Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi). With LUFO IV.4, the BMWi is providing support from 2007 to 2015 for research and technology development projects with an application in civil, commercial aviation in Germany. “We have used software lifecyle documentation to transfer the BSP into a Safety-BSP”, explains Michael Hillmann, Managing Director of Embedded Office. “This Safety-BSP encompasses all the information, the source code, documents and test cases necessary for a successful certification. In addition, we also offer training courses, workshops and support. We endeavour to provide users with optimum support throughout the entire integration of their products, namely from the planning to the certification on site with the responsible certification authorities.”
