Open Enrollment Ends Feb. 15 By Michele Woodham

PEN ENROLLMENT FOR INDIVIDUAL MEDICAL POLICY HOLD- ers ends in just a few short days on Feb. 15. The Cattle Raisers Insurance team is here to guide
you through the open enrollment process and answer all of your questions.
If you change your health care coverage
between these dates:
Dec. 15, 2014
Nov. 15 to
Then your new plan will start:
Jan. 1, 2015
This is the earliest date a 2015 health care plan change will go into effect.
After Feb. 15, the Affordable Care Act will not allow
you to make any changes to your health care insurance plan until the next open enrollment period begins in November, 2015. However, if you have a “qualifying event” between Feb. 15 and November, then you will be eligible to change your health care insurance coverage.
Qualifying Events • Gained a dependent due to marriage • Gained a dependent due to birth, adoption, or place- ment for adoption
• No longer eligible as a dependent under your prior health insurance due to reaching the maximum age,

• Newly ineligible for payments of the advance pre- mium tax credit
• No longer residing or living in your prior health insurance plan’s HMO service area
• An error occurred in your previous health plan enrollment
• You have adequately demonstrated that your previ- ous health plan or issuer substantially violated a material provision of its contract with you
• You and/or your dependent(s) lost minimum es- sential coverage (due to reasons other than non- payment of premium or rescission)
• Other qualifying event (as required or permitted by applicable laws)
