Industry Update THE TILE ASSOCIATION COLUMN
RAK to showcase Resort featuring Hygiene+ at 100% Design
TTA adds member services with new HQ
T
he Tile Association is boosting the services it is able to offer to its members, by opening a prestigious new
headquarters building in Stone, Staffordshire. Located in the heartland of the potteries, near where most of the ceramics industry is based, the new 40,000sq ft facility is easily accessible to the majority of TTA member companies. In addition to providing a base for the administration
services of the Association’s secretariat, all the TTA Board and committee meetings will now take place here as well. The Mount also has facilities to enable the Association to hold technical seminars and provide hands-on fixer training, as well as conference and meeting rooms for the use of the TTA and member companies. The boardroom, seating up to 18 people, is available for hire by member companies, as is the training room. TTA chairman Ian Kershaw, who has an
office in the building, says: “This is a great new resource for our members, where we are combining the running of the secretariat in the same building as a suite of products and services which we believe will be of use to our members. In the future we will develop a full tile training and testing area for use by members, as well as a technical library, including tiling standards and associated information. For the first time this enables us to open up our HQ building for trade events, technical seminars, conferences and other activities for members. I think this shows once again how the TTA is moving up a gear in 2014 and thinking creatively about new member services, adding increased value to TTA membership.”
Exhibiting at 100% Design for the first time, RAK Ceramics will showcase it stunning Resort bathroom collection and feature showers, mirrors, cabinets, tiles and contemporary roomsets including sanitaryware, baths, basins, accessories and porcelain surfaces. RAK’s ‘next generation’ rimless toilet pan design Hygiene+ will be on show in different formats and options. Combining the cleanliness benefits of a rimless format with a sleek,
contemporary design, it features across all Resort WC options including close- coupled maxi and mini projections in close and open backed formats and back- to-wall and wall hung. Matching hand basins are offered from space-saving corner formats to sleek rectangular and oval counter-top bowls and taller pedestal options. Further recent RAK introductions include freestanding and built-in baths, pale
wood and white gloss cabinets featuring ambient lighting, illuminated mirrors and shower enclosures featuring self-clean glass. New porcelain tile and mosaic designs include Cementina, Strata and wood and marble effects which give a pristine ‘real’ finish with practical benefits.
