worldwide,
Overstock.com started in 1999, and now sells a range of products including furniture, rugs, bedding, electronics, clothing, jewellery and cars. “Overstock is an ambitious, dynamic and technology-led company that is excited with the potential that Sligo and Ireland offer,” said Steve Tryon, SVP human capital management and international business at Overstock. com. “The Irish development team will be involved centrally in many existing activities and will lead on several new and initiatives associated with our international expansion.”

ALEXION PHARMACEUTICALS SETTING UP GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN FACILITY IN DUBLIN
Alexion Pharmaceuticals is to set up a global supply chain facility in Dublin, which will employ around 50 people by the end of 2013. The company’s new supply chain
and quality staff in Ireland are expected to begin supplying Soliris (eculizumab) to patients with PNH and aHUS, two severe and life- threatening ultra-rare disorders, by the end of this year. Its expanding Irish workforce will also manage the supply of additional Alexion medicines to patients following regulatory approvals for a series of anticipated launches of new therapies over the next several years. “Ireland’s government and

new 50,000 sq ft office complex at No 1 Central Park in Leopardstown. “

SYMANTEC CREATING 400 JOBS AT NEW EUROPEAN CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT CENTRE IN BLANCHARDSTOWN
Symantec Corp is to set up a new European customer management centre in Dublin, creating 400 positions over the next two years. The company said up to 200 of the
jobs will come on stream before the end of 2013. The new centre will provide a
Europe-wide sales and support function to Symantec customers and partners. The company said it “will be looking for the highly skilled, multilingual team in Dublin to play a central role in achieving Symantec’s mission of protecting and managing customers’ information”. Symantec has been in Ireland
since 1991. Since then, its base in Blanchardstown has been home to a security operations centre, as well as operations in business authentication, software development and testing. The new centre will be located alongside these existing functions. “We are eager to continue our
