ILLUSTRATES
Earlier this year, third-year visual communications students of the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) were invited to illustrate, through photography, their thoughts and ideas around some of the things that make Ireland a great place to locate and do business. Twelve were chosen for inclusion in PwC’s annual calendar, which will be distributed to 25,000 business leaders around the world. Run in collaboration with IDA Ireland, the project
supported the agency’s most recent marketing campaign – ‘What makes Ireland great for business’ – highlighting aspects such as the business-friendly environment; people with a strong work ethic, diverse skills and innovative and creative thinking; and the country’s superb track record. “So often our clients cite the quality of the talent
available to them in Ireland as a key reason for establishing operations here,” says Barry O’Leary, CEO, IDA Ireland.
It gives me great pleasure to see the level of
creative talent shown by these students in their depiction of ‘What makes Ireland great for business’.” “The NCAD places a major emphasis on providing our
students with real-life experiences to develop the skills they will need to contribute effectively to the creative economy,” says Prof Declan McGonagle, director, NCAD. “In recent years, we have developed a range of research, innovation and commercialisation opportunities. By offering our students the chance to work with PwC – and other partners like the IDA – we are aiming to produce world-class graduates with the requisite skills and experience to contribute to our economy, society and culture in a really impactful way.”
LIADH YOUNG: Using strokes of light, I have illustrated how Ireland’s position on the globe is ideal for doing business on an international scale, with access to the EU market, and being located between the US and Asia.
