New representative for the Nolan family of helmets, Nolan’s N-Com Bluetooth communication devices, and Rizoma accessories, MotoGear made a big impact at EXPO by debuting its new ranges, complemented by the company’s existing ranges including Spidi clothing. Said MotoGear MD Trevor Hall: “Not only have Nolan Group [Nolan, X-Lite,
Grex, and N-Com] and Rizoma joined our portfolio of blue chip brands, but we have also recruited seven new members of staff and relocated to much bigger premises in Kettering, Northamptonshire. “It has been an incredibly busy few months. We are thriving thanks to concentrating on a select family of brands and looking after our dealers. The new offices will allow space for a Spidi showroom and areas to showcase the Nolan and Rizoma ranges.” MotoGear has distributed Spidi (founded 1977) since the business started in 2001. Nolan is the largest producer of helmets in Europe. All brands mentioned are Italian.
ZingBikes general manager Paul Hinchliffe with new 125 HMC Classic.
“HMC are light years ahead of the competition in terms of quality,” said Paul Hinchliffe, general manager of importer ZingBikes, pointing to HMC’s three-bike 125cc single cylinder range.
This Chinese-made ZingBikes own brand made its debut at EXPO last year and dealers who have recently signed up include Haywards of Cambridge. ZingBikes also imports and distributes Lifan and Shineray PTWs. Making its debut at EXPO this year was the RaceTek range of racing components, whose development is being undertaken by Herald Racing. This range includes a gas fork made and machined in China but assembled at ZingBikes headquarters in Huntingdon.
Draper delight at trade interest
“We had a cracking first day,” said Draper Tools power and workshop representative Daniel Brown (tel 07824 594505), who was signing dealers and raising Draper’s profile. With 8000 tool lines and more than
Race specifi cation forks from the new ZingBikes RaceTek range of performance products.
90 years in business, Draper is keen to promote its value-for-money quality Expert range that comes with lifetime guarantee. Dealer mark-up is 30-50 per
cent and Draper has expanded into bike stands and hydraulic benches. Reckoning that business from the bike
world represented 20 per cent of Draper’s turnover, Brown was impressed by the level of enthusiasm at EXPO from bike workshop personnel. “We have new lines for bikes and we
are looking at everything. You have to stay fresh,” said Brown.
