SURVEYS INC. in 2012 shows that 85% of core golfers across the major European markets own a golf trolley. Electric trolleys are more popular than push trolleys in the UK, while SMS INC. research shows that push trolleys remain more popular in France, Germany and Scandinavia. Illustrating the spending power


of the average German golfer, SMS INC. research last year shows that on average, German golfers spent more on trolleys than UK golfers, despite the predominance of push trolleys in Germany. From the four major European markets, French golfers, on average, invested the least in trolleys. One of the reasons for the high average cost of trolleys owned by

premium lithium batteries, as opposed to lead acid. Just 17% of UK golfers with electric trolleys are powered by lithium, while 40% of electric trolley users in France and Scandinavia have opted for lithium.
