i Fliers: beginning my 16th year with you. The time has gone by so fast I can’t believe it. I thank each and every one of you for reading

FMand the Electric Flight column. You give me great motivation to keep my projects up to date and I always look forward to seeing everyone at meets. I hope to continue pro- viding you with interesting e-topics for years to come. It’s time for the annual call for e-fly dates that will be listed in this column. Please send your e-fly dates to the address at the column header and we always welcome reader project photos for the column. The JR Indoor was held at the Four Sea- sons Golf Dome in Columbus, Ohio on No- vember 2, 3rd and 4th, CD’d by Terry Nitsch. This should have been the 10th edi- tion of JR but losing the dome in the Great Windstorm of 2008 made this the 9th run- ning of the event. I was able to attend on Fri- day only but as we all know the weather is always perfect at an indoor meet. At JR flying is set up to allow multiple fly- ing areas determined by aircraft type. There were also specified flight times where spe- cialty aircraft such as 3D, Jet and built-up aircraft get the main flying area to show their stuff. An event schedule listing activi- ties from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., including semi- nars and night flying, helped you plan your day. This system worked out well and if no fliers were using the timeslot, the CD would signal the start of open flying. Horizon Hobby www.horizonhobby.com sponsored the Park Zone T-28 pylon races that were held on Saturday night. For a $10.00 entry fee you get to use a T-28 for the race and have a chance to win a T-28 at the end of the racing; not a bad deal at all. Thanks Horizon!

area tables were provided by Radical RC www.radicalrc.com which kept us off the floor and LaserToyz www.lazertoyz.com provided an adhesive equipped repair area to keep us in the air. Vendors and manufac- turers lined the back wall of the event with many new offerings and some great deals. new Mini Vapor makes the regular version of the Vapor look big. With a wing span of 8.7 inches and a weight of just .3 ounce, it is powered by a 1S 30 mAh Li-Po that allows the Mini Vapor to fly in the smallest of in- door areas. Dynamic Foamy www.dynamicfoamy.com displayed their Micro Airliner Series of

pusher jet airliners. Bert Wilson explained that he wanted models that looked scale and were easy to fly (3-channel—elevator, rud- der and throttle). There are some indoor fly- ing clubs that cap the weight limit at a 1- ounce max so he kept this in mind as well. What he came up with was a series of kits designed for the popular PZ bricks, batteries and the 6mm brushed motors found in most indoor sub micro aircraft. The models range from .67–.85 ounce and are finished off with highly detailed decals that capture the essence of the life-sized aircraft. They are easy to build and require very little glue and resources. Typical assembly takes around two hours. To my knowledge they are the first of their kind and offer the modeler a truly unique model that is sure to turn heads this indoor season. The kits are cur- rently priced at $24.99.
