PROMOTIONAL FEATURE
venueprofile Manchester City Stadium
We all knowThe City of Manchester Stadium is home to Manchester City Football Club. But it also happens to be one of the most impressive, state-of-the-art conference and events venues in the country. Originally designed as part of the city’s bid to host the 2000 Summer Olympics the stadium was not actually built until the 2002 Commonwealth Games. After the games, Manchester City inherited it and its use was converted to football. At present it is the fifth largest stadium in the FA
Premier League and the 12th largest in the UK, with an impressive seating capacity of 47,762. As well as hosting the 2008 UEFA Cup Final, the venue has hosted numerous international football and rugby events and music concerts from acts like Take That, The Foo Fighters and Bon Jovi. Since Manchester City Stadium opened, millions of pounds have been invested in upgrading the pitch and hospitality facilities to create a world-class arena for companies looking to organise events of all sizes.
Events and catering The events team will cater for anything from 5 to 1,500 delegates and offers a wide variety of menus including themed evenings like ‘Leaving Las Vegas’ or ‘From Russia with Love’ – a chance to spice up any event. Inside seven individually themed suites, 66 hospitality
boxes, and a host of smaller rooms, you can find the perfect space for private meetings, exhibitions, or that extra-special corporate bash. Each of the spaces and Executive Boxes come with WiFi and multiple sockets plus 3 phase power available on request.
Access and parking The stadium is easily reached from Manchester Picadilly station, and trains from London take just over two hours. It’s also easily accessible from the M60, and Manchester International Airport. There are even 2,500 free car parking spaces on site to handle even the largest of conferences. E
