Manchester for eight years. Stephanie took the award for Best Organised Event for the Insurance Institute of Manchester’s annual dinner. The dinner, which is for 750 people, is as Stephanie puts it “quite old fashioned” but very well respected. “The job of organising this din- ner was daunting due to its size, but like most PAs I rise to the challenge,” she says. Not only did Stephanie rise to the challenge of organ- ising it for the first time she took it upon herself to mod- ernise the whole affair, creating a new dinner menu from scratch, designing all of the stationery herself, creating networking booklets for each table and hiring magicians. Not only was the event a success, but she managed to increase profits on last year by 25 per cent. She is now in the throes of organising next year’s event for which all 760 tickets have already been sold. Stephanie is a worthy winner indeed but even so felt very humbled when her name was called out at our awards dinner. “To win on the night was a fantastic feeling. I had no expectations of winning so when they called my name out I was totally

shocked and thrilled. I feel like a star and have received lots of flowers and congratulations. If you put the effort and passion into something it will create something great.” Stephanie will soon be enjoying the thrills and spills of a weekend break for two at Alton Towers.
