At the age of 97 Mary Carlton died peace- fully on July 23, 2010. Mary was born in St. Clair, MI and lived in Michigan for 93 years, where she and her husband Bob raised a family of three boys. She moved to Washington in 2006 to live with family. Mary was a “people person” and was active in local theater work in Michigan and devoted to the arts. She also managed the millinery department at Jacobson’s Department Store in her hometown of many years, Dearborn, MI. Mary was proud of her Irish ancestry, proud to be a Demo- crat and devoted to the Catholic faith. She was predeceased by two daughters, one in infancy and one at the age of seven, as well as her husband of 45 years, Robert M. Carlton. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, three grandchildren and three great-grandchil- dren. Her family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Alcmenia Dunbar and Mrs. Delphine Fuh for their extraordinary care and loving kindness to Mary, as well as the wonderful team at the Medical House Call Program of the Washington Hospital Center, all of whom made it possible for her to continue to live at home for several years. Special thanks also to the kind and caring staff at the Lisner, Louise, Dickson, Hurt Home who provided excellent care and made every effort to guarantee her comfort. In keeping with Mary’s wishes, she has donated her body to science, and there will be no formal services. She asked only for our prayers. He was born in Glen Cove, NY on November 30, 1940. A graduate of Notre Dame University, he received his law degree from Duke University and was a founding member of KLGates . Owner of the former Mikado Restaurant and Japanese grocery, died peacefully in the early hours of August 4, 2010, in Rockville, MD. He died of stomach and liver cancer.
Mr. Iwai survived his wife, Tetsuko "Myumi" Moriguchi, who died on August 4, 2001. He is survived by brothers, Masanobu and Kiyoshi Iwai, both of Tokyo, three nieces and one nephew, all of Japan.

Passed away suddenly at Inova Fairfax Hospital on Thursday, August 5, 2010. Margaret had been a long time resident and worked for Syms for over 20 years.
Margaret was the daughter of the late James and Cleo Bentley of Pulaski, VA.
She is survived by her husband, Herman D. Lester of Arlington, a son, Michael H. Lester (Michelle) of Fairfax Station, three daughters, Linda S. Mock, (John) of Arlington, Anita D. Anderson of Jeannette, PA, Cristy D. Lester of Falls Church, adopted daughter, Doris Clatterbuck (Joe) of Tazwell, VA, nine grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
