Time is running out to enter Lafarge Plasterboard’s GTEC Aqua Board prize draw competition to pay one lucky customers’ domestic water bills for 5 years. GTEC Aqua Board is the UK’s fist gypsum based board for use in high humidity and wet areas for both internal and external applications. It is ideal for use as a tile backing board or can simply be painted, giving the user extra flexibility in designing their bathroom, kitchen or wet room. GTEC Aqua Board also provides added confidence that wet areas are protected from elements such as mould and fungus. Closing date for all entries is the 31 December 2009.

More end-of-life PVC waste is being recycled than ever before, despite the challenging economic times, according to Recovinyl, the PVC industry’s recycling initiative.Figures for the first nine months of 2009 show that just over 20% more Grade B or end of life material, mainly PVC-U window and door frames that have been removed from properties, was recycled compared to the same period in 2008. In the first nine months of 2009, 9,212 tonnes were collected for recycling, compared to 7,610 for the same period to end of September 2008.
