28 SUSTAINABILITY & ENERGY EFFICIENCY
Painless access for Pinner patients The entrance to the new NHS Pinn Medical Centre comprises of two sets of bi-parting sliding doors powered by advanced TORMAX iMotion™ technology.
Ensuring absolute reliability the iMotion 2301™ operators
incorporate deliberately high torque synchronous motors which do not have any parts that can wear out and are gear-less and brush-less, delivering near- indefinite life-expectancy. iMotion technology is almost entirely manufactured using recyclable materials, making it the sustainable option too. Housebuilders looking for cost reductions on current developments can achieve “significant” savings using Bridgestop a Robust Details- approved system from the Monarfloor Acoustic Systems division of Icopal that also offers maximum credits under the Code for Sustainable Homes. Bridgestop membrane reduces flanking transmission while the Bridgestop quilt prevents acoustic bridging commonly caused by a mortar build-up at the base of the cavity within separating party-cavity
walls. The membrane can also act as methane and radon barriers. Click here to request literature

Free Green guide Taking Window Efficiency to the Max reveals what Tremco illbruck can do to help in the pursuit of greener windows. For example, it points out that Tremco illbruck’s Duralite spacer system is the most thermally efficient available on the market today.Duralite dramatically reduces heat loss and is up to 22 times more efficient than the equivalent aluminium spacer system, when it comes to preventing heat loss at a window’s
edge. The guide says the recipe for state of the art window sealing and energy efficient windows is Tremco illbruck’s i3
system. This includes intelligent seals for air tight internal and weather tight external seals. The brochure points out that air leakage testing is now mandatory, but Tremco illbruck’s i3 system seals out weather while sealing in comfort.
