Fiber-Laser Cutting Technology The Optiplex Nexus 3015 Fiber combines cutting-edge laser technology and is designed to integrate setup and monitoring functions. Advanced features simplify opera- tion and reduce operator dependency and include a large side-access door and fl exible design that is available in a manual pallet or automated two-pallet design. The 11,793-kg machine incorporates a helical rack-and-pinion positioning system that produces solid throughput and high accuracy. The Optiplex Nexus 3015 Fiber is available in 2, 3, and 4-kW confi gurations and is equipped with the new Preview 3 control with 381-mm touch screen and integrated tech tables that simplify operation. Waterjet Technology Highlights Featured products include the Quantum NXT Electric Servo Pump ESP66, the TJ3000-X3 1.5 × 3-m waterjet cutting ma- chine, the PAC 60 fi ve-axis cutting head for taper elimination and 60° bevel cutting, and a new innovative rotary axis. The Quantum electric servo pump incorporates a servomotor directly enveloping a high load, precision ballscrew. The TJ3000-X3 incorporates linear scale feedback to ensure the highest

accuracy of motion. By mapping the entire cutting area with a laser-calibrated digital encoder, the motion system can de- liver positional accuracy of 0.01 mm and high cutting speeds of up to 25 m/min. The new rotary axis is a direct-drive motor assembly capable of ±0.1° positioning accuracy. TECHNI Waterjet LLC Ph: 888-832-4643 Web site: www.techniwaterjet.com

Rapid Prep Abrasive Belts Vortex Rapid Prep belts feature a proprietary agglomerate grain that increases belt life up to three times that of alumi- num-oxide grain and reduces two to fi ve grit sequences in blending operation, substantially reducing labor and material costs. The belts incorporate the Norton Saint-Gobain pro- prietary Clean Bond resin technology for smooth, smear-free fi nishes, eliminating rework process steps and improving productivity. The belts are ideal for aerospace, metal and

stainless fabrication and maintenance, report and opera- tions (MRO) applications. The patented Vortex agglomerated aluminum-oxide grain delivers a 10% faster cut rate on alumi- num, and a 20% faster cut rate on titanium and stainless steel. The combination of cutting power of a coarser grit with the fi nishing quality of a fi ner grit minimizes edge wear, providing up to twice the life on all substrates. Saint-Gobain Abrasives Inc. Five-Axis Waterjet

Jet Edge will perform demonstrations on its X-Stream-pow- ered Edge X-5 fi ve-axis waterjet with Aquavision Di control and Closed Loop Filtration System. Its design separates the motion system from the catcher tank, eliminating vibration. The ballscrew-driven system features direct-couple AC brushless digital servomotors. Options include a second cutting head with mirror cutting capabilities, a pneumatic drill
