hard-to-reach areas, and the precalibrated digital contact/ photo tachometer ensures equipment is in optimal operat- ing condition, eliminating costly repairs; a precalibrated humid- ity and temperature indicator monitors humidity levels and displays temperature and time as well. The Digi-Sense preca- librated pocket thermometers are available in large head, pen
style, and folding probe types and take fast and accurate temperature measurements anywhere, and a precalibrated pocket-size moisture meter measures the moisture level in wood products and hardened materials with one-handed operation.

Robotic Finishing System The RB-RSSA-8 robotic blast system is available with customized features for cleaning and surface preparation of machined aerospace castings using either shot or grit media. A new variant of the system has a FANUC Robotics LR Mate-200iD six-axis robot mounted on the reinforced back wall of the blast chamber. A 24" (0.6-m) diam- eter turntable is adapted to accept the component- holding fi xtures for all parts to be blasted and is servomotor- driven, so
the radial orientation of the component is coordinated as a seventh axis by the robot’s R-30iB controller. A jib crane mounted on the roof of the blast enclosure and a rubber- fl apped crane slot facilitate loading of heavy parts onto the table, which is designed with a weight capacity of 250 lb (113 kg). The media reclamation and delivery system of the custom RB-RSSA-8 machine enables separation of stainless steel shot and aluminum oxide grit media fed to two different pressure pots of 2.3 ft3
(0.07 m3 ) capacity. Dust collection is January 2015 |
