project cooperatively built on site by both Solar Manufactur- ing and Solar Atmospheres of Western PA employees. One of the largest of its kind in the world, the vacuum furnace will serve the needs of the aerospace and nuclear markets around the world, according to Bob Hill, president of Solar Atmospheres of Western PA. Durable Packaging

Company will showcase its use of packaging solutions of- fering the ability of corrugated crating to perform like wood in manufacturing custom crating. Patented cross-core laminating manufacturing process makes company’s crates stackable, reusable, and durable while weighing only one third the weight of wood. PACT pallet also has a patented shock-absorbing pallet that is fully functional like a wood pallet, putting the cushioning on the outside rather than using expensive foam cushioning on the inside. Sustainable features have been extended to include ESD (electrostatic discharge) packaging. Packaging and Crating Technologies Ph: 888-905-0003 Web site: www.pactww.com

Mold/Die Welder

Incorporating the latest technology, the PUK U4 Welder offers an easy to use solution for precision mold and die repairs. Using micro TIG technology, the welder produces small, consistent spot welds that penetrate the mold surface. The welded areas are strong and can withstand the pressures and working conditions during the molding process. All heat is concen- trated at the spot of the weld thereby eliminating the pos- sibility of distortion and metal

stress caused by overheating. The system comes complete with: microscope; LED light; electrode handpiece; set of 0.6- mm electrodes; electrode sharpener; ground cables; argon gas regulator; tack resistance welder; and foot pedal. Paul H. Gesswein & Co. Inc. Ph: 800-366-5400

Lift System

Ergo-I is a telescopic pillar lift system that provides smooth, quiet and precise vertical positioning for manufacturing and industrial applications. It is available for a compressed-air power source, making the system safe for work fl oor environ- ments in which electric power is not available or prohibited. The system can lift loads of as much as 400 lb (180 kg) with- out operator strain. Ergo-I has hand pendant or foot pedal controls and can be customized to enable synchronized movements of multiple units. Ergotech Inc. Ph: 203-790-4100 Web site: ergotechinc.com

Fixture Plates

The Loc-N-Load quick-swap fi xture system can now be ordered with air assist. The air-glide feature can be added to the standard 12 × 18" (30.5 × 46 cm) fi xture plate per customer re- quest. Additional special- order-size plates are 18 × 18" (46 × 46 cm), 18 × 24" (46 × 61 cm), 24 × 24" (61 × 61 cm) and 24 × 36" (61 × 91 cm). The standard fi xture system in- cludes several size dock- ing rails, fi xture plates, end caps and an angle plate. Plates can be ordered individually or in preconfi gured bundled systems which include workholding kits. Phillips Precision Inc. Ph: 508-869-0373 Web site: fi xture-up.com

Silicone Shielding Silicones fi lled with nickel-coated graphite provide environ- mental sealing, electrical conductivity, and EMI shielding at a fraction of the price of silver-fi lled elastomers. Adding an inner layer of conductive fabric boosts volume resistivity and material strength. SSP-502 Series silicones are fi lled with nickel-graphite particles and can be reinforced with conduc- tive fabric. For example, SSP-502-65-032-Composite-NG-1 is 65-durometer nickel-graphite silicone with an internal nickel-coated mesh. Specialty Silicone Products Ph: 518-885-8826 Web site: http://www.sspinc.com
