Portable Second-Operation VMC TRAK 2OP

ATTENTION FIXTURE BUILDERS & DESIGNERS

NEW Dura Pin

portable machining centers are designed for second-operation machining. They streamline workfl ow by bringing an additional spindle quickly and easily to an operator idled by the cycle time of his primary machine. The unit features Proto- TRAK CNC technology with easy-to-learn and use conversational language programming. Programs can be generated either at the machine or remotely to perform tasks normally as-

sociated with second-operation machining, including drilling, tapping, countersinking, face-milling, and the machining of profi les, pockets, and bolt-hole patterns. Standard features include an eight-station tool changer that eliminates the need for manual tool changes, “built-in” Jergens ball locks that fa- cilitate quick changeovers and rigid tapping, a coolant pump, and a pallet jack.

Intelligent Machining Solutions DTect-IT can monitor vibration irregularities anywhere on a CNC machine tool or fi xture. It will run on any Windows PC with an available USB port and immediately graph the sensor data on the PC. DTect-IT is especially useful for measuring excessive barfeeder vibra- tion on lathes. If vibra- tion is excessive, spindle RPM can be reduced until the vibration level is acceptable to make good parts. If the RPM has to be reduced too much, and parts cannot be cut, an alarm can be gener-

ated to inform an operator to remove the bar. TMAC MP tool monitoring system maximizes tool life by monitoring power, not guessing with cycle count or time in cut. TMAC features immediate machine stop-and-retract when a tool breaks to minimize damage and is excellent for untended operation. Caron Engineering Inc. Ph: 207-646-6071 Web site: www.caroneng.com
