SPRING IS FINALLY HERE IN WISCONSIN AND THE RIDING SEASON IS IN FULL SWING. Harley-Davidson Motor Company manufactures motorcycles for law enforcement, and our Research and Development for Police motorcycles has always emphasized its core philosophy is to keep the Offi cer properly equipped for service and safety. The respect that Harley-Davidson Motor Company has always had for Motor Offi cers since 1908 has driven our product development. Harley-Davidson®
Police motorcycles
continue to build on their legendary reputation by pro- viding superior performance and the reliability needed to withstand the rigors of everyday duty. One of the best parts of our jobs here at Harley-
Davidson Motor Company in Milwaukee, WI is hearing from our many loyal customers. Customer satisfaction is our highest priority, and it always gives us a feeling of pride when we hear stories about the success of the Harley-Davidson Motor Units. This issue is jam-packed with new photos and articles, and we hope you enjoy reading it. We had to add four additional pages!! The Motor Offi cer™ magazine is dedicated to the unique interests of Motor Offi cers, and we continue to focus on articles that will interest law enforcement readers throughout the world. Our subscriber list is increasing, and our goal is to keep producing a magazine that is written by Motor Offi cers for Motor Offi cers, and that’s something to be proud of. Ongoing training is very important in the law enforce-
ment fi eld, so be sure to read the training article on page 34 and check the scheduled dates of the Operator/Instruc- tor training classes on page 40 offered in partnership with Northwestern University Center for Public Safety.
A complete list of the 2015 law enforcement motorcycle
training (Rodeo) competitions can always be found at
www.setcomcorp.com. As always, we plan to have factory reps at many of these events. Please see the information for our Reps on page 10, and be sure to say hello when you see us at these events. We are proud to have been and will continue to be involved with these law enforcement motorcycle training competitions (Rodeos) for many years. We are extremely honored to feature several Motor
Units in this issue of The Motor Offi cer™ magazine. Please be sure to read about the Salt Lake City Uni- fi ed Police Motor Unit celebrating 100 years. Harley- Davidson®
Police motorcycles were utilized during
most of those 100 years. It’s a proud tradition that goes back to the very inception of motorcycle Police Offi cers, when Detroit created the fi rst Department motorcycle unit in 1908. The heart and soul of The Motor Offi cer™ magazine
are the articles and images of your Harley-Davidson Motor Units, and we are proud to publish them. Are you disappointed that your Motor Unit isn’t featured with a photo or article in this issue? The deadline to submit for the Fall issue is August 15, 2015. For information on how to submit your articles and photos, please email
misty.oelhafen@harley-davidson.com. We hope you enjoy this issue of The Motor Offi cer™
magazine as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you. Ride safe.
