A Metro-North commuter train is about to cross the Harlem River Lift Bridge, while CSX No. 8767 leads a rail train destined for interchange to the Long Island Rail Road on April 6, 2016. Opened in 1998, the Oak Point Link allows freight trains to run from Metro-North’s Hudson Line directly to Oak Point Yard while bypassing busy Mott Haven Junction. In the distance is High Bridge Water Tower, built in 1872 as a part of a control valve system for New York City’s water supply.
