Nominating Candidates for LREC Trustee


Lake Region Electric Cooperative members will vote for two trustees at this year’s Annual Meeting.


The Annual Meeting will be held on April 29, 2017 at the Hulbert Public School Auditorium. Any member who is interested in running for a board of trustees position, including incumbents, must submit a nominating petition before March 24, 2017. Each petition must include 15 or more member signatures. The petition forms are supplied by Lake Region Electric Cooperative.


Important Dates


March 10, 2017: Deadline for selecting Youth Tour essay finalists.


March 17, 2017: Legislative breakfast at Hulbert Senior Citizen Building, hosted by LREC.


March 24, 2017: Deadline for nominating petitions for board of trustees due at Hulbert office.


March 29, 2017: Final judging presentation of Youth Tour finalists at Hulbert office.


April 29, 2017: Lake Region Electric Cooperative’s Annual Meeting at the Hulbert Public


Voting will be held in the New Hulbert School Cafeteria


2017 Annual Meeting Information


Under LREC’s Bylaws, each year the Cooperative holds an annual meet- ing the last Saturday in April. At the annual meeting, LREC members can meet with the board of trustees and co- op staff and receive an update regard- ing the Cooperative’s activities during


the past year. The meeting also brings the annual election of board members, which represents you, the members of the co-op. Members can cast their bal- lots at the meeting; they also hear the election results at the 1:00 p.m.


Local Students Attend Touchstone Energy Leadership Summit in OKC


LREC was proud to sponsor Levi Colvin and MaryKate Cole, both Ft. Gibson seniors, to attend this year’s Touchstone Energy Leadership Summit in Okla- homa City. Thirty teens from more than a dozen electric cooperatives across Oklaho- ma gathered on February 11, 2017 for a full day of hands on training, discussions, and team building activities. The training featured innovative and exciting discussion led by Rhet Laubach, personal leadership insight speaker. In addition, each teen also received a $250 scholarship for participating in this year’s summit.
