Cimarron Electric staking engineers and linemen are staying busy with the new demand for elec- tricity. The amount of contractors we have hired to help us build new services is also on the rise.

The offices up front are getting a face lift. More room is needed to provide service to our mem- bers. We are adding new employees to serve our members’ needs. Help wanted ads are listed on our website at www.cimarronelectric.com.

A cement pad is being poured to place another large transformer at the N. Kgf. Substation.

Substations in the Omega and Geary area are underway. A Portable substation will be installed to shorten the arrival time.

Dirt work is underway to increase the size of our Kingfisher pole yard and transformer yard. The amount of material we need to have on hand is increasing as new services are built.

From 1936 until 1985, Cimarron grew to serve around 15,000 meters. That number stayed about the same for the next 25 years. Cimar- ron Electric was about 70% residential in 1985, and our marketing programs were designed for residential consumption. We currently have over 16,000 meters and are growing at a rapid pace. The increase in meters results in increased elec- tricity sales. Today, we are around 45% residen- tial and that number is falling. It shows that the increase is in the Large Power, Commercial and Oil Field pumping classes.

The Watonga warehouse facility has been in- creased. Another building with a new meeting room,a bathroom and an office has just been built. With so much new load in the area, we needed more room to discuss jobs and lay out maps and paperwork.

Inside the new Watonga meeting room.

It is interesting to look at the early history of Cimarron Electric. We’ll look at this Project 1-A in future newsletter additions with some neat facts and figures. We’ll also keep you updated to new history being made as Cimarron Electric grows and expands.

Four rigs in a row show an increase in drilling activity. Electric lines are ready, across the road.

One thing that never changes from 1936 to To- day. Cimarron Electric was formed and continues to exist to serve our members.
