“ Sleigh ride to remember
Each year, one of the world’s largest remaining herds of elk (wapiti) – about 7,500 out of what was once a population of 25,000 – weathers the harsh winter in the National Elk Refuge, nestled between Jackson and Grand Teton National Park. Your unforgettable horse-drawn sleigh ride through the refuge takes you right into the steaming, pawing winter world of the herd, as they watch you pass!
Waters with healing powers
Since before Yellowstone even became our first national park in the 1870s, visitors have enjoyed the benefits of the underground mineral hot springs at Chico Hot Springs Resort in Montana, just outside the park’s north entrance. Believed to have healing properties, the geothermal waters supplying the resort’s open-air pools have an average temperature from 96°F to 103°F; we encourage you to take a dip during your stay!
Yellowstone is his backyard…
Naturalist, author, and photographer MacNeil Lyons has spent nearly 20 years as an interpretive park ranger and education specialist in Yellowstone National Park. In a presentation about the wildlife he has studied and photographed over
the years, MacNeil
inspires you with his passion for and knowledge of the precious Yellowstone ecosystem.

Yellowstone in winter is magical: the colors and waters of the thermal features are enhanced by freezing air and snow, trees glitter, and animals outnumber tourists. One of the best trips ever!

OLD FAITHFUL SNOW LODGE
Just steps from Old Faithful, the Old Faithful Snow Lodge has been recognized with the Cody Award for Western Design. Its heavy timber construction, exterior log columns and cedar shingle roof make it a significant modern example of classic “parkitecture.”
