The legend of Crazy Horse...
In 1948, a Lakota chief commissioned Polish-American sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski to create a monument in the Black Hills honoring a hero of the Sioux people. Depicting the legendary warrior emerging on horseback from Thunder Mountain, the Crazy Horse Memorial – as you’ll see for yourself – is still in progress, its work carried on by the late sculptor’s family; when completed, it will be the largest stone carving in the world.
