Bruker has released the first quantitative super-resolution microscope, the Vutara 352, which offers speed, imaging depth, and resolution, as well as real-time quantitative capabilities. For the first time, this represents an entirely new dimension of functionality in super-resolution microscopy, including the ability to perform pair-correlation, co- location, cluster, and live-cell analysis with super resolution. The Vutara 352 is now also compatible with Bruker’s Opterra multi-point confocal microscope. This enables the visualisation of large-scale, high-resolution structural context in correlation with super-resolution imaging in even the most

OptiScan III

Prior Scientific has introduced the OptiScan III, a powerful, entry level system for controlling the OptiScan range of motorised microscope stages and focusing devices.

Compatible with a wide range of both upright and inverted microscopes, the compact OptiScan III can be used to drive a motorised stage and a focus motor, while precision motor drive technology ensures quiet and smooth motion. A joystick provides users with precise and ergonomic control of their microscope accessories in the X, Y and Z axes.

The controller is compatible with most image analysis

software packages, facilitating simple integration between software and hardware, while the on-board plug-and-play facility automatically configures the system components. A free software development tool kit is available, including DLL, a VB demo program and a full complement of ASCII commands. www.prior.com

challenging live-cell applications. Based on Bruker’s proprietary biplane technology, Vutara 352 leverages high-performance data acquisition and image processing capabilities to perform the entire imaging workflow, from acquisition through localisation to quantitative analysis. Utilising GPU processing, completion of an entire workflow cycle can be accomplished in a matter of minutes, providing a significant enhancement to work throughput. The Opterra SR confocal scanner option, based on Bruker’s Opterra II Microscope platform, adds additional imaging functionality to the system, including real-time deconvolution. www.bruker.com
