EPIC Workshop on Photonics for Consumer Electronics

Cambridge, United Kingdom | 10 March 2016 Hosted by

 ANNOUNCEMENT

For a B2B roundtable, EPIC is scouting for photonics, electronics and MEMS technology solutions to enable innovation in the consumer sector. These solutions should be ones that could be deployed in consumer products in two to three years’ time, i.e. they should not be at the experimental stage, nor should they be already available off-the-shelf. Solutions from small companies are especially welcome!

Technologies of interest are numerous, and include time-of-flight, photonic crystal fibres, photoacoustics, displays (2D and 3D), motion sensing, imaging devices, intrinsic fibre-optic sensors, intense pulsed light, actuators, packaging technology, smart materials (e.g. colour changing materials), energy harvesting, etc.

 APPLICATIONS OF INTEREST

• Wearables, e.g. for sporting performance monitoring, safety • Health, wellness and personal care, e.g. point-of-care diagnostics, blood glucose, heart rate, body temperature • Environmental, e.g. air quality monitoring, food safety • Imaging and displays, e.g. for smart devices, night vision, automotive, virtual and augmented reality

 REGISTRATION

EPIC members and guests: 200 EUR + VAT. Non-members: 950 EUR + VAT.

Fee includes detailed participants list, pre-workshop dinner, coffee break and lunch. On invitation, limited to 20 participants.

“EPIC has built an amazingly strong network of companies focused on collaboration to reach the synergy effect. A very valuable resource for our company and the Photonics industry.”

Dr. Viacheslav Artyushenko, President, art photonics be part of it!

EPIC B2B Roundtable Concept: Component and system suppliers from small/medium/large companies who have a new or innovative technological solution present their technologies to integrators who seek specific capabilities and performance. The technologies presented should be innovative and new and ready for integration into a final system. Integrators will briefly present their needs and requirements in the field of Photonics. Participants have ample opportunities to network and discuss business and technology details during the event. The EPIC B2B Roundtable accelerates the presence in the market of key competitive technologies.
