Increased demand leads to improved hook range
from Eagle Claw British distributor, Reuben Heaton, extends UK stocks of American range
A
s a result of increased demand for Eagle Claw products, Reuben Heaton has extended its UK-based stock offering across all three Eagle Claw, Lazer Sharp and Trokar ranges. Retailers can now access over 100 best-selling hook patterns in a range of sizes for both saltwater and freshwater sectors direct from the UK distributor. New additions have appeared in predator, soft baits, specialist destination and carp sectors, with some of the latest tungsten weighted soft bait designs from the US bass competition circuit now available in the UK. Andrew Race, managing director of Reuben Heaton, told T&G: “Eagle Claw seem to have quite a collection of specialist sizes and patterns and we have noticed that retailers taking up the brands have quickly progressed to some of the more exotic items that are hard to source from other hook brands. “Via the main Eagle Claw catalogue, we have access to over six thousand items across all three Eagle Claw brands. “All new additions to the UK stock list are included in this year’s bespoke point of sale display promotions. Tailored to each individual retailer needs, the new
displays maximise the sales potential of any available space by allowing the retailer to select those patterns and sizes that suit their particular customer profile. Low carriage- paid thresholds and no minimum order quantity on trade packs, means that retailers turn over stock cost-effectively without exposure to slower moving stock items.” In recent months, the company has seen significant increases in what it calls “destination” hooks. These are the harder to get patterns and sizes at the more extreme ends of the spectrum from size 18 treble hooks for micro stingers and tube flies to 20/0 circle hooks for shark and big game. Andrew added: “Retailers taking up Eagle Claw are individually promoted on social media on take up in addition to being specifically listed by brand on the main Reuben Heaton web site. Links to retailer listings are posted multiple times each month and new dealer listings are announced individually.” Eagle Claw brands are due to appear in several publications throughout 2018. Carp and predator and saltwater patterns also feature heavily in the sponsorship of many national and international events
